Timesheet Mobile is designed to be easy to use and our Punch Prompt, schedule and Project+ messaging are all designed to make the process of creating time entries as easy as possible for your employees. That said, we know things happen in the "real world" that can require administrative time and effort. Things like employees picking the wrong job or task when punching in or ignoring the many reminders and clicking that Punch In button late or even forgetting their phone for a shift or two. Timesheet Mobile has a solution by allowing shift modification requests from employees.
Allowing employees to more efficiently manage their shifts worked can help streamline your administration time and costs dramatically keeping your administrators time on the bigger picture. Timesheet Mobile now allows this to be done even if you choose not to require a formal administrative approval for timesheets.
See below for how to enable this setting in your account:
Once enabled, employees will be able to request modifications to existing shifts worked, request new shifts or even request that a shift be deleted (which can happen if they punch in/out of the wrong job and realize their mistake). All of this is done from the Reports tab within the Timesheet Mobile smartphone app:
Administrators and Managers can view change requests from the Reporting Menu > Pending Logs page. There they can quickly review requests for changes along with the original shift information and make a determination of whether to approve or disapprove the request. New shifts and requests to delete shifts are shown in separate areas. Once approved, changes are reflected in the Timesheet report immediately. If disapproved, the original shift will remain in the report.
Adding administrator approvals and making use of Timesheet Mobile for employee electronic approval (see Using Employee Approvals) can take your operations to the next level and form a critical part of your efficient operations. Adding the ability for employees to request time off is in the works as we continue to enhance the product based on our customer's suggestions.
