Although Timesheet Mobile caters to businesses who need to keep track of mobile workers, we understand that many employers also have workers who are office-bound for at least some portion of the work week. Instead of requiring these Workers to download the app and carry their phone around with them throughout the day, we now offer a desktop punch method. Workers who use the website to punch in and punch out will not receive Punch Prompt alerts.
You will need to grant each applicable worker permission to punch in via their desktop. For workers with an active profile in your system, select Workers on your dashboard screen, click on the more option icon next to the selected worker and click on Quick Edit.
In the pop-up window, Under General, click the box next to Allow Website Punches.
This will launch a screen and ask you to confirm your action. Select OK, enter the worker's email as prompted and save your changes. Timesheet Mobile will generate an email to that worker with a temporary log in password, allowing access to website punching.
If you'd like to set up a new worker to use desktop punch, click on Workers on the dashboard and then click on Add Worker.
In the Worker Details screen, enter your Worker's information. Then click on Send Email Invitation AND Allow Website Punches.
Your worker will receive an email with a link to the website as well as a temporary log in password allowing access to website punching. Authorized workers will then log into their account and see this Punch screen. They can then select the Site assigned to them by their managers and click on Punch In to start the clock.
The Time Entry Tool also gives authorized workers ability to quickly enter time for a week (See how authorize workers to use this tool here: Set up Punch Clock). When these workers log in to their Timesheet Mobile account, they will see both the Punch Clock and the Time Entry Tool as shown below.
These workers can now quickly select the work week (1), select site and tasks (2), quickly enter times (3) and review totals for each site and day and for the week and click "Submit" (4) to enter time for the week.
Workers can view current hours, prior day hours, and weekly totals by clicking on the Report ranges button above the punch clock.
