One of the most frequently requested features from customers using Timesheet Mobile scheduling is the ability to prevent off schedule or unscheduled punches. Responding to this need, Timesheet Mobile now offers "Prevent Unscheduled Punch In" in the App Settings:
When turned on, Prevent Unscheduled Punch In will block workers using the Timesheet Mobile smartphone app for Android and iPhone from punching in if they are not scheduled for work. The blocking can be adjusted to permit punch in times up to 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time or can be set to "Strict Time" permitting the worker to punch in only at the scheduled time to prevent cheating from starting the clock early. Also, workers will have the option to allow the app to automatically punch them in at the time the shift is scheduled. This prevents early and missed punches saving payroll hours and administrator time.
App users will need to update to versions 21.4 (Android) or 9.8.0 (iPhone) for this functionality to work.
In addition to controlling off schedule or unscheduled punch in, Timesheet Mobile's leading geofence based reminder Punch Prompt works in conjunction with the scheduling. If there is a geofence configured for a scheduled site, your workers will receive a notification when entering the site if they are able to punch in. For example, if you permit punch in times up to 5 min early and your worker arrives at a schedule job site 4 minutes before the scheduled time, they will receive a Punch Prompt reminder in addition to the schedule reminder when the job is set to start. Punch Prompts will not be displayed for unscheduled work and are not displayed if the worker cannot punch into the site.
Prevent Unscheduled Punch In brings Timesheet Mobile's scheduling capability to the next level. Please contact Timesheet Mobile support if you have any questions about how to use this or other capabilities of the solution.
