The following collection of feature descriptions has been collated from our existing knowledge base to include only topics that might interest the mobile app user. Following each snippet is the link to the actual article source, if someone wants to read further.
Work Schedules in the App View
Work schedules added to the system are synchronized with the worker's smartphone app. Workers can view their scheduled work times, access detailed information about the site, work shift, or get directions to the site from within the app.

Unpaid Breaks
Workers that complete a shift longer than the minimum shift specified will receive a Break Prompt (see below). In addition, workers who complete shifts longer than 10 hours will receive a second break prompt, and those working more than 15 hours will receive a third break prompt. In the prompts displayed, workers can indicate what time their break started and can enter it with the click of a button. Workers are able to override the default break length, if they took a longer or shorter break and also have the option to skip the break, if they did not take one.
Paid Breaks
Similar to unpaid breaks, workers are notified to indicate that they have taken the specified paid break at the appropriate times during their shift. For example, if your settings indicate workers should take a paid break every three hours, the Timesheet Mobile smartphone app will remind workers to indicate whether they have taken a paid break every three hours.
Workers will then open the app to indicate whether they have taken the specified paid break. Workers can indicate that they have taken the break or indicate that they did not take the break. An indication will be provided to managers and administrators if a worker fails to indicate that they took or declined a paid break opportunity.

Schedule Swap and Shift
This shows an example of an employee, Eric Reed, initiating a request to swap a shift scheduled for Fri 15 Apr from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM with a shift from employee Uncle Rico scheduled for Mon 18 Apr from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. From the schedule tab in the employee's smartphone app, the employee simply navigates to the Schedule menu and clicks the three vertical dots of the schedule the wish to swap. Selecting "Swap Shift" displays the shifts that are available to be swapped. Selecting a shift displays the requested swap and allows the employee to complete the request.

Open and Available Shifts
Open shifts are simply shifts for work at a workplace that do not yet have any workers or staffing resources associated with them.
Available shifts are shifts that are accessible to workers from their Timesheet Mobile smartphone app and are selectable to clock in and out from.
Workers will see available shifts in the smartphone app.
When an eligible worker selects the available shift and clocks in, it will be removed from the available shifts list and no longer available to other employees to select. An assigned shift for the worker that clocked into the available shift will be created as a record.
In the case where a worker is offline when they selected a shift, there is no way to know whether another worker has taken the same available shift. Normally, the first employee to clock into the shift is logged by syncing with the server over the internet. This will make the shift unavailable for other workers to select from. But if there are offline workers who select available shifts at the same time, then multiple workers may be clocked in on the same available shift.

Employees Sharing Phones and App
If you have employees that need to share a phone between shifts, they can stop their shift and Switch User, so the next employee can use the phone and app. This requires iPhone or Android Version 28 or higher. It will require that the phone re-register at each punch in.

Lone Worker Safety Check
Either globally or individually (see Customize App Settings by Employee), a checkbox labeled "Lone Worker" will be displayed at the time of clock in. If the checkbox is selected when clocking in, notifications reminding the worker to checkpoint will be provided on their smartphone at the interval selected in the account clock settings. The worker will open their app and press the Checkpoint button. The checkpoint added by the worker will include time and location and any notes or attachments entered by the worker.

Submitting Work Time Changes
During the pay period, employee shifts will be captured using the Timesheet Mobile app installed on their smartphone. On the Timesheet Mobile app, employees can make edits to any shifts up until the time they are approved by a manager. So, if they forgot to clock out, they can fix it on the spot. All worker edits must be reviewed and approved by a manager. Once approved they will be locked and stored in Approved Timesheets tab.

Employee Approvals
With Timesheet Mobile, employees can now review their timesheets and approve shifts within a single system. Employees can also request changes to their shifts if administrator Timesheet Approvals is enabled in Account > Settings.
In order to approve their times for a pay period (weekly, bi-weekly or semi-monthly) employees will need to navigate to the Timesheets tab on their smartphone app while connected to the internet (either cellular data or WiFi). On the Timesheets tab, the employee can select either the current or prior week or pay period depending on the account settings and review the times by scrolling through their report.
If the employee is clocked out and there are no errors or pending shift modifications in the report, the employee will see "Approve Timesheets" in the summary bar for the period selected. Clicking "Approve Timesheets" this will present the employee with a notification that they are about to approve all shifts for the pay period. By pressing approve, a record of the approval is created. Approved shifts are marked with a green bar in the app Timesheets tab.
